Directors' College
The Research Triangle Chapter’s Directors' College is a unique aspect of the chapter’s focus on serving the local community by providing programs to improve the boards and caliber of corporate governance of local firms. Since its inception, over 450 people have attended the College seeking to improve their knowledge of effective governance practices. Attendees have included a former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, members of public company boards, directors of private companies, individuals serving on non-profit boards, and committed individuals seeking their first board position.
Directors College is held twice per year, offering both Spring and Fall sessions, and is conducted as an all day program covering five core skill sets central to effective governance. All faculty are experienced board members and professionally experienced in their respective topic areas.
The day-long curriculum for the College includes topics such as:

- The Board's Role in Succession Planning
- The Boards Role in Strategic Planning
- Director Responsibilities & Liabilities
- Director & Executive Compensation in Today's World
- Overcoming 'Groupthink' to Improve Board Decision-making
There is no charge for NACD members to attend the Directors' College;
Non-members are charged $250.
